Faded Echoes is an AU TVD-verse that kicks off after Mid Season 3 with a whole new twist. In the small town of Mystic Falls, go beyond what TVD offers and submerge into Original Plots or Character Driven Plots. FE has more than just the normal Witches, Vampires and Werewolves, but gives you the opportunity to create Shifters or Hybrids as well.
We stray after the Homecoming episode in Season 3 of Vampire Diaries and provide players a place to take the story how THEY want to, using the TVD setting as the foundation to develop as YOU like, encouraging Original Characters OR Canons. Don't know the show? No problem. You just need the setting!
The Original Families, Vampire and Werewolves, are back in town after the Mikaelson family was released by Tatia Petrova, giving us a whole new set up then the show.

Vampires and hybrids require blood in order to function. The most desirable blood for vampires and hybrids is blood from a human. It is because of this desire to drink their blood that vampires and hybrids can also compel humans. When a vampire or hybrid compels a human, they must look in their eyes and the human must be free of Vervain. Vervain can sometimes be in a human’s system or on their person (like in jewelry) without them knowing it. For the most part, human’s don’t just carry the plant on them however.
Humans aren’t entirely vulnerable. They have tools in order to slow the supernatural down or kill them. These humans are hunters. They use things such as Vervain and stakes against Vampires. They use Wolfsbane against Werewolves. For the most part, Human hunters don’t know about Hybrids. Hybrids are a new breed and especially centered in Mystic Falls, so unless they’ve been in town for a bit, they shouldn’t know about hybrids. They’re especially influenced by the environment.
Just as in real life, humans age at a normal span. Sometimes, Humans may have an inactive werewolf gene that was passed along in their family but remains dormant until they kill someone. Humans can be born into Wereanimal, Werewolf, or Witch families and be left in the dark of the supernatural their whole lives. Just because their mother is a Witch, doesn’t mean they necessarily have to be. Or just because their sister is a Were-Tiger, doesn’t necessarily mean they are too. It just means they are a carrier of the gene to pass along to their children. They age normally, they die through diseases, accidents, etc, just as in real life. Humans can be healed by Vampire or Hybrid blood if they’re injured, but if they die with the Vampire blood in their system, they will turn into a Vampire and be physically stunted at the age they died at.
Vervain – Plant used to harm vampires and hybrids. If humans ingest this, they can resist compulsion from vampires and hybrids. Vervain burns vampires and hybrids like acid to the skin, so swallowing it is a no for them. Wearing vervain in a locket will make it possible to resist compulsion, but they can still suck your blood.
Wolfsbane – A very rare plant, even rarer than Vervain, used to harm werewolves, wereanimals, and hybrids. Ingesting Wolfsbane may prevent a hybrid from compelling you or drinking your blood. Vampires won’t even notice the substance in your system though.
Stakes – A wooden weapon used to kill Vampires. A stake to the heart kills a Vampire. A stake in the heart of a Hybrid will neutralize them for 2-5 minutes until they wake up gasping for breath and vengeance.
Invitation –Anyone with a human lifespan (which includes witches/warlocks, wereanimals, werewolves and humans) has protection in their home. They must invite a vampire or hybrid into their home in order for them to access it. Humans can be compelled to give permission and that is still effective, even if it’s against their wishes.
